Walk along the beach to get a good workout while collecting shells, admiring the water and spotting some of the wild horses. The Currituck Beach Light is the only lighthouse in the state that still stands in its original spot. Bring along your camera!

For classic beach attractions, visit Jennette’s Pier. See dolphins, go fishing, and spend a day swimming and taking in the views. You’ll be walking a lot along the pier which will give you some great exercise.

Get in a whole-body workout at Corolla Adventure Park. Take on obstacles such the high or low ropes courses, or, go zip lining. For an easier workout, choose level one, but if you want to push yourself, try level three or four.

If you want to strengthen your arms, consider a kayak tour. Learn about the plants and animals, and be on the lookout for alligators. Beginners to experienced kayakers are welcome. There are even small paddles available for kids. Both tandem and regular kayaks are available to rent.

Kilmarlic Golf Club
Perfect your swing and get in a good walk at the Kilmarlic Golf Club. Pick your tees wisely was this is not as easy course. It is, however, worth the time and money. Past players highly recommend it for the playing environment and friendly staff.

North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island
Wander around in comfort at the aquarium. See animals such as sea otters, turtles, fish, and sharks. Must-sees include the sea jelly and turtle conservation exhibits. Watch an educational film, see a shark feeding, learn about animals and take a behind-the-scenes tour, all in the same day. For an unforgettable experience, if you are open-water certified diver, sign up for the shark dive. Grab a bite to eat in the café before seeing the rest of the facility. Spend a low-impact day walking leisurely and visiting all of the exhibits.

Get fit and see the sights in the Outer Banks. Reach your workout goals while relaxing on the islands.
